Some interesting facts about Rwanda

Rwanda is a fast growing Country in the central part of Africa with Kigali as it Capital city. Rwanda is a landlord country that shares boundaries with Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo.

The country attained it independence  status on  July 1,1960.

Rwanda is still associated with the Brutal genocide of 1994 but now Rwanda is one of the developing countries with stable economy because of how the economy has been structured.

For a couple of years now, Rwanda has embarked on series of activities that aimed at promoting the good name of the country and also attract tourists into the country.

Here are some Facts about Rwanda

1. Rwanda is only African country that have four official languages.These languages are French, Kiswahili,Kinyarwanda and French.These languages are used in Public settings and educational institutions with motives of promoting Bi-Lingulism in the country.

2.Rwanda is the most most densely populated country in Africa estimated at 276.6.

3.Plastics are banned in public spaces in the country.This campaign started in 2008 with the aim of making the country clean from products that cannot be rott. Sometimes when you are coming to Rwanda, officials will check if you possessed plastic materials in your luggage, if yes, they will remove it.This initiative have made Kigali,the most cleanest city in Africa.

4.Every last Saturday in every month is served as community work day where they engage in communal activities. Peoples in the country show up in their numbers to sweep and tidy up the environment, others also engage in developmental projects like building of School facilities, hospitals and other social facilities.

One thing that makes it special is that the president of the country also participate in the communal activities.

5.Rwanda is also a country with high numbers of women in their parliament.  Sixty (60) per cent of the Parliamentarians are females. This made it the only country with high numbers of women in their parliament in Africa and the world at large.

6.Rwanda is ranked as the second easiest place to do business in Africa by the World Bank and has been awarded for its leadership in tourism and economic competitiveness by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and the World Economic Forum respectively.

Recently, the country anounce visa-free for Africans who wish to to Rwanda to explore the physical features of the country. The country depends on tourists from outside Africa, accounting 60 per cent of its total tourists according to data from United Nations Economic Commission.
