Super Tuesday 2024: Which States Are Going To Vote? Voting Hours Of States Going To Poll Today
The race for the White House is heating up, with 15 states and one US territory voting for their preferred candidates on Super Tuesday 2024. This is the day that we will have a better idea of who will be the nominees for both parties.
For the Democrats, President Joe Biden is the clear frontrunner with no real competition. He is likely to sweep most states, including Minnesota, where one of his opponents is from. Rep. Dean Phillips is attempting to challenge Biden, but he has little chance of winning. He had already lost badly in Michigan, where he was defeated by Marianne Williamson, who had initially quit the race but later returned.
Former President Donald Trump is the overwhelming favourite among Republicans, with a massive lead over his last remaining rival, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley. Haley has only won Washington, D.C., and has received very few delegates from other states.
Super Tuesday 2024 is crucial for both parties because a large number of delegates are at stake. However, neither Biden nor Trump will be able to clinch the nomination on March 5, as they will require additional delegates to cross the finish line.
According to CBS News, Trump can seal the deal by March 12, while Biden can do so on March 19.
865 delegates are available for the Republican candidates. To secure the nomination, a Republican candidate must win at least 1,215 out of the total 2,429 delegates.
