Akufo Addo Commiserates Bereaved Family Of The Late Ga Manye With GH¢100k

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo commiserated with the bereaved family of the late Ga Manye with GH¢100k. Additionally, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) contributed GH¢10,000 to the funeral.

President Akufo-Addo, accompanied by First Lady Rebecca Naa Okaikor Akufo-Addo, attended the event, joined by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Second Lady Samira Bawumia, and other dignitaries.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegation also offered condolences and donations.

Akufo Addo Commiserates Bereaved Family Of The Late Ga Manye With GH¢100k

The Ga Queen Mother, Naa Dedei Ablah, a significant figure in women’s welfare, became the Ga state’s Queen Mother in 1963, reigning for 59 years. The funeral witnessed the presence of chiefs from various regions, members of the creative arts industry, and diverse individuals paying their respects.

Naa Dedei Ablah, acclaimed for her achievements and advocacy for women’s welfare, received numerous humanitarian awards during her reign, including the Excellence in Culture, Chieftaincy, and Justice award in 2002 from the Gadangme Association International of Philadelphia.

Book of condolences was signed and opened by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on June 19, 2023.

Making the presentation on behalf of the president, former Member of Parliament of Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover expressed the condolences of the president and the state to the bereaved family and the entire Ga State on the passing of the late Queen

Other items donated included boxes of Malt, Heineken, water, whisky, and other assorted items.

The late queen mother, Naa Dedei Omaedru III passed away at her Dansoman residence, surrounded by her loved ones, on 26th December 2022.

During her reign, Naa Omaedru was credited with devoting her life selflessly to public and voluntary service and championing important issues crucial to peace, education and opportunities for young people, especially the girl-child.

These include seeking the welfare of the girl-child and women to safeguard their future, setting a remarkable example of leadership to queen mothers in the Ga State.

She also stood for peace and unity and promoted these, among not only the people of the Ga State but also all Ghanaians, and advocated a united approach to the meaningful development of her people.

Naa Omaedru was noted for her charity work. In 2004, she donated items worth $12 million to the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled at the Ghana National Rehabilitation Centre in Accra.

President Akufo-Addo is set to attend the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ 2023) grand finale, marking the first time a sitting President will attend this event in its 30-year history.

Scheduled for Monday onday, October 30, 2023, at the National Theater in Accra, the highly anticipated quiz competition’s finals will feature a special performance by Priscilla Quaye from VocalEssence Choral Ghana.

President Akufo Addo To Attend NSMQ Grand Finale

The NSMQ 2023 grand finale will showcase a showdown between past champions: Opoku Ware School (OWASS) with two titles, Presbyterian Boys Senior High, Legon (PRESEC) as seven-time champions, and Achimota School (MOTOWN) with two previous victories.

The participating schools are fully prepared and determined to etch their names in history as champions of science in Ghana.

President Akufo Addo has revealed why he chose Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as his vice. In gathering with some school children at the Jubilee House, President Akufo Addo was asked by one of kids to explain why he decided to choose Bawumia out of the numerous people in Ghana, as his vice.

Akufo Addo replied and stated that he choose Bawumia because he is from the Northerner. He added that the country always need leaders from both the south and the north in order to ensure unity in the country.

Aside this, Akufo Addo stated that Bawumia is very honest person and has the ability to express himself in every situation. According to him, selecting Bawumia as his vice was the decision he took. He added that Bawumia has brains that will help the country develop.

Why Akufo Addo Chose Bawumia As Vice

“I think you are aware of our country, in terms of the balance between the people from the south and the north. I think for the unity of the country, it is good that we have a leadership where northeners and southerners gather so that the country can remain united. He is from the North and I wanted someone from the North to partner me for the elections and also governance. He is also a very clever man and I needed his brains to help me to govern the country effectively. And he is an honest person. He speaks honesty. He is not one of these people who we have to guess what they are trying to say..he will say what he has to say very directly and I like that, i prefer to deal with people who are very direct with what they say. So these are some of the reasons I chose Dr. Bawumia as my vice” he said.
