Female teacher remanded in prison for beating pregnant colleague. The teacher in question is one Madam Jalimatu Mohammed, a 34-year-old teacher stationed at the Islamic JHS at Aboadze in the Shama District in the Western region has been remanded by the court to reappear on July 7th, 2021 when the full merit of her case would be heard.

The Judge, her lordship Abigail Anima Asare, expressed great worry over that the complainant, who was alleged to have been assaulted and also a teacher in the same school, was pregnant. She questioned the kind of lessons pupils of the school would learn from the act that brought the two to the court.
According to information available to this portal, the accused teacher, Madam Jalimatu Mohammed who is the Social Studies teacher physically attacked the complainant who is an English teacher in the same school and was six months pregnant.

The complainant was beaten mercilessly, her wig was removed in the full glare of JHS 3 students. Madam Jalimatu Mohammed further threatened to ensure that the complainant’s pregnancy gets aborted.

The two female teachers have not been on good terms for the past six years. The Controller and Accountant General is to be notified by the prosecutor to ensure the accused person is not paid for the two weeks she would spend on remand.
