Term 2 Vacation Date

As per the 2023/2024 academic calendar, Basic schools in Ghana will conclude the second term on 11th April 2024. The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr Eric Nkansah, assures a smooth execution of the calendar. However, Kofi Asare, the Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, emphasizes the need for clarification, especially regarding the transitional calendar’s impact on Form Two students compared to Form One students under the single-track calendar.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) is the government agency responsible for the management and administration of education policies and programs in Ghana. It oversees the implementation of educational policies from the pre-tertiary to the tertiary level. The GES manages public schools, develops curricula, conducts examinations, and provides guidance and supervision to ensure quality education throughout the country. Its mandate also includes teacher training, professional development, and the promotion of equitable access to education for all Ghanaian citizens.
