The MoE Ensures Food Security in SHS/TVET Despite Shortage

Under the guidance of Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has implemented effective strategies to guarantee a steady food supply to all food shortage SHS/TVET in the nation.

A representative from the Education Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng, informed the press that there is an ample food supply in storage facilities across all public Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

In response to reports of food shortages, teams from the Ministry, Ghana Education Service, and the Free Senior High School Secretariat have been dispatched to assess the food supply situation in schools nationwide.

Highlighting the well-stocked food storage facilities in various second-cycle schools, the Public Relations Officer mentioned that funds allocated for purchasing perishable food items are disbursed to all schools in a timely manner.

During a recent media briefing, Kwasi Kwarteng shared that feedback from school heads and prospective students visited by the teams indicated satisfaction with the quality and quantity of food provided.
