The President Reverses the Appointments of 24 MDCEs

The appointments of 24 municipal and district chief executive (MDCEs) officers has been revoked by President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The suspension of the appointments is in accordance with Article 243 (3) b of the Constitution and section 20 (3) b of the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936)

The President sent a letter last Friday to the Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Dan Botwe, who is also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Okere in the Eastern Region, informing them of the revocation and directing them to nominate replacements under separate cover.
