Top 10 Most Valuable Football Players In 2023
The list was curated by the CIES Football Observatory, who rank players based on their transfer market valuations looking at ages and contract lengths over three years. Below is a list of the top 10 most valuable football players in 2023.
Top 10 Most Valuable Football Players In 2023
First spot on the list is Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior, who has a value in excess of €250 million.
The 23-year-old has a release clause of €1 billion at Real, meaning that in the event that he at any point want to leave the Bernabeu, it would be for a charge significantly higher than his actual value.
In behind Vinicius is Real Madrid team-mate Jude Bellingham, whose genuine transfer value is also in excess of €250 million.
The English star has scored eight goals in eight league games since arriving at the Bernabeu in the summer, matching his total across the whole of last season for Borussia Dortmund.
The highest-valued Premier League player is Erling Haaland, who is also ranked at over €250 million. The Norwegian scored the most goals in a single Premier League season last season, and has started off this campaign in similarly astonishing structure.
Next up is another Real Madrid gem, Rodrygo, while Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has climbed to fifth place after signing a guard new contract with the Gunners earlier this year. The two players have valuations in excess of €200 million.
In sixth place is PSG star Kylian Mbappe, who has topped the list in previous years. The Frenchman, who has a value of over €150 million, has just a single year left on his contract at PSG, meaning his actual valuation is even lower.
In January, Mbappe will actually want to talk to other clubs about a pre-contract agreement, which would allow him to leave PSG as a free agent in the summer.
Rounding out the main 10 are Barcelona midfielders Gavi (seventh) and Pedri (ninth), Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli.
