Undergraduate Natural Resources Management Program at University of Development Studies
Brief Description of Program
This plan is motivated by the idea that balance between human activity and the natural environment is essential for sustainable development.
Environmental resources are under stress due to the ongoing population growth and increased income in developing nations.
In order to ensure that the environment can continue to provide essential life support through consumptive and public-good services, i.e., via ecosystem services like provisioning (e.g., food and water) and regulating services (e.g., flood control and climate regulation), it is crucial to balance competing demands on natural resources.
To accomplish the aforementioned, it will be necessary to train qualified human resources who have broad-based, integrated abilities in managing natural and environmental resources and who can approach problems in an effective and sustainable manner.
