UG-SRC To Host Cohort 2 Of Skill-Up For Jobs Bootcamp 2024

The University of Ghana Student Representative Council (UG-SRC), under the leadership of Frank Tsikata for the 2023-2024 term, in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network-Ghana (GEN-Ghana), is gearing up to launch the second cohort of the UG-SRC Skill-UP for Jobs Bootcamp.
Scheduled for July – August 2024, this initiative is poised to significantly enhance the employability and entrepreneurial skills of its participants.
The Skill-UP for Jobs™ Bootcamp is an ambitious experiential learning program designed to train, inspire, and equip 1,000 students per cohort with essential skills aimed at fostering job creation.
The month-long weekend program will include both in-person practical training and virtual sessions focusing on a sequential build-up of employability skills across various disciplines.
Participants will apply what they’ve learned by creating prototypes or proof of concepts as part of their micro-projects, under the guidance of industry experts who will serve as mentors.
Highlighting the bootcamp will be the Skills for Jobs Conference and Exhibition, where students can engage directly with industry professionals, gaining crucial insights into the skills required for both current and future job markets.
This interaction is designed to not only motivate but also provide firsthand appreciation of the importance of skills training.
