UTAG Gives Government a 14-day Ultimatum or |Check full details

UTAG has given Government a 14-day ultimatum to resolve all issues tabled by the union which led to the recent strike. Failure of the government to deal with the issues at the heart of the strike action may lead to a possible new industrial action by UTAG.

UTAG reported a suspension of its strike that spanned over 40 days at a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

This almost immediately followed an order from the Accra High Court for their members to resume normal teaching and learning activities.

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has given the government a new ultimatum that will span over a 14 day period during which UTAG expects nothing but smooth negotiations and fulfillment of promises made to them by the government.

UTAG’s National president, Prof Solomon Nunoo, made the above and more known and also insisted that the members of the association will be relentless in their efforts to seek their best interests and will not hesitate to resume their strike action in case issues are not resolved within the expected timeframe.
