University of Cape Coast Admission Requirements (2022)

Every year, the University of Cape Coast, UCC, puts out a list of general requirements that all applicants must meet before they can be considered for admission to any of the university’s programs.
University of Cape Coast Admission Requirements
Below you will find the basic entry requirements for both local and international students who wish to gain admission into the University of Cape Coast
WASSCE / SSSCE Candidates
Candidates must have credit passes (WASSCE A1–C6 / SSSCE A–D) in six subjects, with a total of 36 in WASSCE and 24 in SSSCE.
Three of the six subjects should be core subjects like Math, English, Integrated Science, or Social Studies, and the other three should be related to the student’s area of study.
General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level
The applicants must have gotten credit passes in five GCE “O” Level subjects, including English and Mathematics. Also, they should have three passes at the Advanced level in the subjects that are important.

General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE)
The applicants must have gotten credit passes in five GCE “O” Level subjects, including English and Mathematics. Also, they should have three passes at the Advanced level in the subjects that are important.
International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)
Candidates must have credit passes in five GCE “O” Level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, and three passes in the relevant Advanced Level subjects.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Candidates must have at least a grade 4 in three subjects related to the field of study at the Higher Level (minimum of grade 5 for Health and Allied Sciences). Also, they should have at least a 4th-grade level in English/Literature and Math (SL)
How to Apply
Online applications are the only way to get into programs at the University of Cape Coast. Candidates must buy scratch cards that will let them fill out their applications online. There are several places where you can buy these scratch cards.

- I-J Consult, Apostle Dr. Baidoo Avenue, Off Pentecost Convention Centre Road, Millennium City, Kasoa (CASH payment only)
- All University of Cape Coast College of Distance Education (CoDE) Study Centres (Mode of payment: GCB Bankers Draft in the name of The Registrar, University of Cape Coast)
International candidates and Ghanaian candidates aboard can make payment for their Scratch cards by VISA Card and have their Scratch Card PIN mailed to their e-mail addresses.

- Post-SSSCE/WASSCE – GH¢220.00
- Post-Diploma – GH¢230.00
- International Applicants – USD$120.00

To start the application process, candidates need to go to the UCC website. On the website, you can find instructions on how to apply.
