Requirements for people who want to get into Bachelor of Education programs
WASSCE Holders: Credits (A1–C6) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Math, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects.
SSSCE Holders: Credits (A–D) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects.
Applicants over 30: Candidates must be at least 25 years old.
Requirements for people who want to get into Bachelor of Arts programs
WASSCE Holders: Credits (A1–C6) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Math, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects (including English Literature).
SSSCE Holders: Credits (A–D) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects (including English Literature).
Applicants over 30: Entry requirements for applicants to Bachelor of Science programs are that they must be at least 25 years old.
WASSCE Holders: Credits (A1–C6) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects (including Elective Mathematics).
SSSCE Holders: Credits (A–D) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects (Business or General Science, including Elective Mathematics), with a total of at least 24.
Applicants over 30: Candidates must be at least 25 years old.
How to Apply for a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Education and What You Need to Know
WASSCE Holders: Credits (A1–C6) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects (Government, Economics, Geography, History, and CRS/IRS).
SSSCE Holders: Credits (A–D) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects (two of Government, Economics, Geography, or History).
Applicants over 30: Entry requirements for people who want to get a Bachelor of Business Administration in Account Studies are that they must be at least 25 years old.
WASSCE Holders: Credits (A1–C6) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects (any other three (3) relevant Elective Subjects) (i.e. Financial Accounting, Business Management, Cost Accounting, Elective Mathematics, Economics, and Business Mathematics).
SSSCE Holders: Credits (A–D) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects: Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies, as well as credits (A–D) in any two of the following: Financial Accounting, Business Management, Cost Accounting, and Business Mathematics. In addition, a credit pass (A–D) in either Economics or Elective Mathematics.
Applicants over 30: Candidates must be at least 25 years old.
How to Apply for a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource MGT and What You Need to Do
WASSCE Holders: Credits (A1–C6) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects, with a total of at least 36.
SSSCE Holders: Credits (A–D) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects, with a total of at least 24.
Applicants over 30: People who want to apply must be at least 25 years old.
Post-Diploma (B. Ed.) in Basic Education for 2 Years
Those who want to apply must have a Diploma in Basic Education from the University of Education, Winneba or another well-known university or institution.
Other people who want to apply must have a Teacher’s Diploma in Basic Education, which is given to graduates of Ghana’s Colleges of Education.
Applicants with a Tertiary Diploma certificate (other than the DBE) will be accepted at level 200 of the 4-Year B.Ed. in Basic Education program.
Early Childhood Education Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.)
Applicants must have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from the University of Education, Winneba or another reputable university or institution.
Other people who want to apply must have a Teacher’s Diploma in Early Childhood, which is given to graduates of Ghana’s Colleges of Education.
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting Studies, which takes 2 years after the BBA.
Those who want to apply must have a Diploma in Accounting Studies from the University of Education, Winneba or another good university.
Applicants can apply if they have a Higher National Diploma (HND) in accounting with a grade of 2nd Class Lower or higher.
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resource Management for 2 years.
Those who want to apply must have a Diploma in Management Studies from the University of Education, Winneba, or another good university.
- Applicants with a Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent in EITHER Secretaryship and Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Accounting, Purchasing and Supply, OR any Tertiary Diploma in a relevant area.
- Those who want to join the Human Resource Management program and have a Diploma in Basic/Early Childhood Education will be accepted into Level 100 of the 4-Year program. This doesn’t apply to DBS holders.
- Bachelor of Arts (3 years) in English Language Education
- Applicants must have a Diploma in Basic Education Certificate with English as an elective in the Basic Education program and have credits in Literature-in-English at WASSCE or SSSCE. These people will be allowed to join the 4-Year program at Level 200.
Bachelor of Arts (Post-Diploma) in Social Studies Education that takes 3 years
- Applicants must have a Diploma in Basic Education Certificate with Social Studies as an elective in the Basic Education program and have credits in any two of Government, Economics, Geography, or History at WASSCE or SSSCE. These people will be allowed to join the 4-Year program at Level 200.
- Bachelor of Science (Post-Diploma) in Mathematics Education for 3 Years
- Applicants must have a Diploma in Basic Education Certificate with Mathematics as an elective in the Basic Education program and have earned credits in Elective Mathematics at WASSCE or SSSCE. These people will be allowed to join the 4-Year program at Level 200.
DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Diploma in Basic Education or Diploma in Early Childhood Education
- WASSCE Holders: Credits (A1–C6) in three Core Subjects: Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies, plus two Elective Subjects.
- SSSCE Holders: Credits (A–D) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and two Elective Subjects.
- Applicants over 30: Those who want to apply must be at least 25 years old and have a “Teacher’s Certificate A” from a well-known college or institution.
Diploma in Management Studies or Accounting Studies
- WASSCE Holders: Credits (A1–D7) in three Core Subjects: Math, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies, as well as credits (A1–C6) in three Elective Subjects.
- SSSCE Holders: Credits (A–D) in six subjects, including three Core Subjects (Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three Elective Subjects.
- Applicants over 30: Applicants must be at least 25 years old, and they can also apply if they have a Private Secretary Certificate.
- A degree in teaching
Applicants must have ONE of these things:
- A bachelor’s degree in any field that is relevant to the job.
- A tertiary diploma or a Higher National Diploma (HND) or something similar in agriculture, building, and construction, engineering, nursing, etc.
- A Certificate of Advanced Study or Part III in a trade subject.
POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
- Graduate Certificate in Education (PGDE)
- A Bachelor’s degree in any field from a reputable university.
- A good showing at an interview that the university will give.
English Master of Education
- Those who have a good Bachelor’s degree in English with an education component (like a B.A. in English Language Education) from the University of Education, Winneba, or its equivalent from a reputable University in the field can apply.
- Candidates with a BA or BS without an education component must have a Diploma in Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education.
- The candidates must do well in an interview.
- Master’s Degree in Teaching Math
Those who have a good Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics with an education component (like B.Ed. Maths or B.Sc. Maths Edu.) from the University of Education, Winneba, or its equivalent from a reputable University in the field can apply.
Candidates with a BA or BS without an education component must have a Diploma in Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education.
The candidates must do well in an interview.
Master of Science Education
- Those who have a good Bachelor’s degree in a Science/Applied Science subject with an education component (like B.Sc. Physics Edu.) from the University of Education, Winneba, or its equivalent from a reputable University in the field of study can apply.
- Candidates with a B.Sc. without an education component must have a Diploma in Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education.

- A master’s degree in mentoring
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a well-known university that includes a course in education.
