US Elections 2024: Super Tuesday Primary Results, State By State
Find out the Super Tuesday primary results, as Donald Trump inches closer to becoming the GOP nominee for the 2024 presidential elections.
Aside from the general election in November, the Super Tuesday primaries are the largest voting day of the year. Elections are held in fifteen states and one territory, ranging from Alaska and California to Vermont and Virginia. Hundreds of delegates are at risk in the primaries, the most for each party on any given day.
As expected, longstanding Republican nomination frontrunner Donald Trump easily defeated his single surviving opponent, Nikki Haley, winning 12 of the first 13 states called, including the important swing state of North Carolina.
Nikki Haley won the Vermont primary, preventing Donald Trump from sweeping all victories. Haley also won the capital, Washington, DC, over the weekend, but she remains far behind Trump and is under pressure to pull out of the race.
On the Democratic side, President Joe Biden easily won statewide nominating contests around the country. Biden lost only one fight on Tuesday: the Democratic caucus in American Samoa, a small US territory in the South Pacific Ocean. Jason Palmer, a previously unknown contender, defeated Biden by 51 votes to 40.
As of now, Donald Trump is leading the race to become the elected GOP nominee for the 2024 elections, and possibly face President Joe Biden again.
