VAT rates will be increased- Ken Ofori Atta
The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, has announced that the government will increase the VAT rates.
He made this statement while presenting the 2023 Budget Statement at Parliament.
According to him, this is a strategy government developed to increase domestic revenue mobilization.
Also, the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, has announced that the government intends to review the e-levy policy. He specifically stated that the rate charged as e-levy will be reduced from 1.5 percent to 1 percent.
According to him, this is part of the effort of the government of Ghana to increase the domestic revenue mobilization target the government.
The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta also explained that the daily threshold criteria for the payment of the e-levy will be reviewed. That is, the GHc 100 cedi threshold which was initially communicated will be reviewed by the government.
