WAEC opens 2022 school selection portal for private BECE candidates. The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has opened the 2022 school selection portal for BECE candidates for the selection of schools for the 2023 school placement.
The exercise will start on Monday 14th November 2022 and end on Monday, 28th November 2022 across the country. In a communiqué by WAEC through the Ghana Education Service (GES),
To ensure the fast pacing of the exercise, Metro, Municipal. District Directors of Education are to team up and form teams comprising ICT Teachers and, or Data Entry Officers to support the Examination Coordinators and Headteachers to do the school selection entries based on the choices made by the candidates.
According to the GES, the call for this team and persons with the right expertise to be used in the process is to ensure all errors associated with the school selection are avoided.
The 2022 private BECE candidates can select their schools by visiting https://www.waecinternetsolution.org/
They are required to log in by using their BECE 2022 Index number as the Username and their date of birth as the password.
This year, WAEC organize the BECE for both school and private candidates. The private candidates are those who are to use this above explained procedure for selecting their schools for consideration.
This year, 2022 BECE graduates are required to select up to six schools for which they want to be considered for placement into SHS in 2023.
Candidates had the option of using the new cluster option to ensure that, if they are not placed in a given secondary school in a category, they are considered for placement in other similar schools in the same category.

According to the Ministry of Education, the new feature was introduced due to the over 3000 candidates who scored between aggregate 9 and 15 in 2021 but were not placed in any of the schools they chose.
Parents and candidates must note that the 2022 school selection portal described in this article is for only 2022 Private BECE candidates.
