WAEC releases 2021 Private WASSCE Results, withholds 696 results

WAEC has released the 2021 NOV-DEC Results for private candidates. This was communicated through a press release by the West African Examination Council on its portal.

52, 974 candidates registered for the WASSCE for Private Candidates for the 2021 examination. 1,897 candidates who registered for the examination were absent during the examination.

WAEC disclosed that it had withheld the 2021 Private WASSCE Results of 696 candidates who are alleged to have engaged in some examination malpractices. WAEC shall only release the results of the 696 candidates after it has concluded its independent investigations into the cases of malpractices.

The results are now live on the WAEC portal and candidates can check their results with result checkers.

According to WAEC, the examination malpractices students engaged in during the 2021 Examination were: bringing foreign materials and mobile phones into the examination hall, impersonation, collusion, seeking external assistance among others.

The Council has cautioned students and the general public to be on the alert for scammers who contact candidates with the promise of upgrading their results for a fee payable through mobile money transfers.
