WAEC releases 2026 BECE results for private candidates

The West African Examinations Council wishes to inform its numerous publics that it has released provisional results of candidates who sat for the BECE for Private Candidates, 2026. The results are available on the council’s official website at www.waecgh.org for candidates who so desire to access them online. Prior to the release of the results, private candidates who checked their results got the “Your Index Number Is Invalid” response from the portal. Others who bought result checkers also held the belief that they had been served an invalid checker card. The release of the 2026 BECE results for private candidates brings to an end the result-releasing phase of the BECE.

A total of 2,987 candidates, comprising 1,618 males and 1,369 females from all the regions of the country, entered for the private examination. The examination was conducted at centres in some selected regional capitals across the country. Out of the total number, 101 candidates were absent.

EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES

The results of nine candidates have been withheld for further scrutiny due to suspected collusion detected during the marking exercise.

Candidates whose results have been withheld should visit https://irreg.waecgh.org and click on the withheld/cancelled button on the home page. They will be redirected to the irregularity and investigations page. This page will display reasons for withholding the results. The candidates will receive information on the next line of action.
