We Have All Agreed to Remove Ken Ofori-Atta – Parliament Confirms

Parliament agreed to the removal of Ken Ofori Atta
Collins Adomako-Mensah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Afigya Kwabre North NPP, has confirmed Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah claims that the entire Majority Caucus is now in support of calls for the dismissal of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
The call began with 80 NPP MPs threatening to boycott government business unless he is fired, and the Minority in Parliament later backed them up by filing a vote of censure against Mr. Ofori-Atta.
During a news conference on Thursday, November 3, 2022, Hon. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu revealed that the NPP caucus has unanimously decided that the President’s cousin must be removed from office.
“Even though the issue began with the group of 80 or more MPs, the caucus meeting aligned with that group’s position, so it is no longer the cause of the 80 or more MPs.” It is on the agenda for the entire caucus, and we are discussing it,” he said.
During a discussion on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, Hon. Collins Adomako-Boamah stated that what the Majority Leader is saying is correct and that the entire caucus has agreed and made it clear to the President that they no longer want Mr. Ofori-Atta.
He stated unequivocally that the caucus is committed to their decision and will not back down.
“He is correct that it is now a majority decision. We are all in agreement with the earlier concern expressed by eighty (80) Members of Parliament… “The obvious thing is that we had a Caucus meeting and the Caucus decided this is our position,” he explained to Kwami Sefa Kayi.
According to the MP, the Majority Caucus believes that “a new person at the Finance Ministry will bring some new breath, new ideas.”
