Scamming, Defrauding, and Whatsapp Hacking Phone Numbers in Ghana – Read this to protect yourself.

Some young Ghanaians have chosen for themselves the path to defrauding, hacking, and scamming innocent people. They call you and inform you that, the group you belong to is being reconstituted and that, they will send you a code for you to key in so that you can be added to the group. 

Scammers utilize social media networks to market a variety of scams to a big audience; posts might range from investment possibilities to commodities or services for sale. They will also send direct messages such as those attempting to extract money or personal information that can be used to gain access to your social media accounts (Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook, etc) bank accounts, and credit cards. The attack is very common on WhatsApp and in Whatsapp groups. Always ensure you are in the right group and ensure, you report any suspected hacker or scammer to the group admin. 

Take note, no WhatsApp group admin will call you to tell you such scam-infested lies. Sadly there are many young and old, enlightened and smart users of WhatsApp who do not know anything about how to detect such hackers and scammers when they call. 

Many are so naive and easily fall to the tricks of these Scam and Fraud guys. Once they hack your number, they begin to use your phone number to send marketing messages of illegal services and products such as World Remit on all platforms you belong to.

For group administrators, there is the need to be extra vigilant to ensure you are not hacked. These criminals often copy the pictures and names of group admins and use this information on their status when they join your WhatsApp group. This way, they confuse WhatsApp group members and that creates a fertile ground for hacking innocent members.
