WhatsApp rolls out latest feature: Wows users globally
The World’s most used messaging app WhatsApp rolls out the latest feature for the app to help users have a better user experience.
The new feature enables users to provide or add their own descriptions to forwarded images, videos, GIFs, and documents.
According to updates made public by a reliable source by the name WaBetaInfo.
WhatsApp rolls out latest feature:Description for forwarded messages
The name of the new feature is “Description for forwarded messages”. It is currently available to beta testers, however, not all accounts may have access to it immediately, t according to the app-tracking website.
“This feature is important as removing the caption from the forwarded media could cause confusion for the person who receives the message,” the website reported.
This new update is under version 2.23.8.22 of the messaging app.
As per this update, you can add a custom description for a forwarded image by removing the current caption.
“This feature is useful in case the current caption doesn’t correctly describe the image or you want to attach a different description.
“When you remove the current caption, and you add your own, the new description will be sent as a separate message so the recipients know it doesn’t belong to the original message,” WaBetaInfo said.
The new “Description for forwarded messages” feature will permit users of WhatsApp to among other things add more context to any media that they want to forward media.
Thus, users can now provide explanations about why they forwarded the media and also share their thoughts, opinions, or feelings about the media.
However, at the moment, those with the update may experience issues when viewing status updates and downloading videos.
