Have you been reading or writing a long essay and wondered, ‘Who really invented words?’. Well,  let’s find out today.

No single person or group or class of people invented words or the alphabets all by themselves. Words were written or used so many years ago.
The ancients Egyptians wrote words using a kind of alphabets known as hieroglyphics which represents pictures of words or ideas. So they used pictures(hieroglyphics) so some time which had over 1000 words.

It was hard to learn them and only the rich could afford to be taught such words. The hieroglyphics were later changed to single line of images(from complex to simple). This was now easy to learn.

These simple line of words were called Abjad, which is the foundations of words in the world.

These words spread throughout the world and each part of the world changed it to it’s own suitable writing. It was changed based on their own languages.

Words also evolved from sounds. We have all heard animals making noises – lions roar, dogs growl etc. Whales are probably the best communicators as they can “talk” to each other across thousands of miles of ocean, just by making sounds in the water. Most animal sounds are usually warnings, but are still a simple form of communication. When you get to the apes, like chimpanzees and gorillas, they make more complicated sounds that can mean different things to another ape. Words simply evolved from these sounds and became more developed as our brains developed.

Currently, a world is a single distinct meaningful element of speech or writing, used with others (or sometimes alone) to form a sentence and typically shown with a space on either side when written or printed.

Words are current derived from the English language alphabets which are 26 in number
