NSS Outstanding Allowance And Matters Arising

On Friday, 18th August, 2023, the June allowance for the 2022/2023 national service batch was paid. National Service personnel were paid ¢559 instead of the new amount which is ¢715.57. A lot of candidates were surprised, while others were shocked to see just 559.07.
Several national service personnel are currently worried because they expected the increased value in their account and not the old allowance.
News from the National Service Secretariat have revealed that indeed, ¢559 was paid to all personnel as June allowance. However, plans are being made by the Secretariat to pay all outstanding arrears from January this year. This means, July allowance will soon be paid and all the outstanding arrears after the increment will also be paid in few days time.
