Young Lady Emerges Covenant Varsity’s Overall Best Graduating Student with Perfect 5.0 CGPA
Covenant University, one of the most well-known private universities in Nigeria, added another feather to its cap when it announced and gave degrees to 77 scholars with Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees and 114 scholars with other types of Master’s Degrees.
The university said this at its 17th convocation on Friday, January 6, in Ota, which is in the state of Ogun. At the Bachelor’s level, 1,677 people graduated from the university.
There were 1,677 graduates, and 206 of them (12.28%) got First Class Degrees. According to reports, Miss Dashe Fatima Andat, who graduated from the College of Management and Social Sciences with a degree in accounting, was the best student overall.
She got a perfect score of 5 points on her Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). Covenant University gives a more detailed breakdown.
Professor Abiodun Adebayo, the vice chancellor of Covenant University, said that 744 people (44.36%) graduated with Second Class (Upper Division).
Also, 620 (36.97%) of the graduates are in the Second Class (Lower Division) category, and 107 (6.38%) are in the Third Class category.
Professor Adebayo told the graduating class how proud he was of them and how well the university had prepared them to find and take advantage of great opportunities in the real world.
“As you are set free today, may you continue to fly like eagles, become worthy ambassadors of the Covenant, be a source of pride for our continent, and walk the path that brings glory to the kingdom of God,” he said.
