You’ll know what exactly is to be tackled right away when you wake up. Be it studying, working out or calling loved ones.

1. Make Your Bed Every Morning
As I said earlier, making your bed may sound simpler than doing it. No, I’m not saying it requires the strength of Hercules, it can easily escape you. What you can do at the start is to add ‘make my bed’ to your to-do list before sleeping.
When you make you bed first thing after waking up, there’s some sense of orderliness and accomplishment to begin your day.
Another benefit is that it sets the tone for maintaining and organizing your space.
As my mom would always say, make your bed before leaving home so even if your day goes hectic, you get home knowing you have a small, welcoming bed of calm to rest on.
2. Make a Schedule And Routine
The day is always pre planned out in the military. This is to ensure there’s no time wastage and also ensure productivity is maximized.
You can practice this too as a student. schedule time for class, exercising, work, socializing and even sleeping.
These habits leads to stability and structure.
I personally haven’t planned only for the next day, but for this whole year. Yes, I have a new year resolution to achieve. One is to increase my social network with people of relevance.
3. Prioritize Hygiene And Grooming
frequent bathing and proper uniform care indicates that the military prioritizes personal hygiene.
Staying neat, smelling good and being well-groomed shows professionalism and tells people around you that you pay attention to details. As a student, you should keep your appearance up to high standards.
One of the best compliments peers would give you by prioritizing hygiene is ‘I like how you keep yourself’.
4. Eat Healthy And Exercise Daily
Proper food and Strength are central to military life, no trash foods like noodles. Energize your body with healthy meals and stay active each day. Eat like a King and train like a warrior.
Good food and workouts will boost your health and mental clarity, you barely would fall sick doing just these.
5. Maintain Your Gear And Equipment
Persons in the military keep their uniform, weapons, and living space spotless.
know where to keep your books, shoes, money and pens. Properly clean and store important items to extend it’s longevity.
Keep your living space tidied up too.
6. Embrace Discipline And Structure
Military discipline helps accomplish goals and missions. Apply self-discipline to stay focused on tasks. Structure your days and weeks to maximize productivity. Discipline and routine keep you on track when you lack motivation.
Military discipline is what helps the army achieve goals and complete missions.
Similarly, discipline would save you in all endeavors of life. Regardless of what you’re doing or wherever you find yourself, you need discipline to keep going.
While motivation is helpful, discipline is what you need most of the time.
Even on days when you lack motivation, discipline is what keeps you moving.
7. Focus On The Mission
In the military, all energies and activities done align towards the game plan. Identify the big picture goals, identify your ‘whys’ and let them dictate the daily moves you make.
Try you best to resist distractions, you can do this by reducing how often you use your phone. You can put your phone on “focus mode’ or ‘do not disturb’ and direct energy towards achieving your goals.
I use an app can FREEDOM to freeze apps and websites I may be tempted to visit when I’m studying with my phone. This app has helped me a lot, you can download it from your phone’s app store.
8. Work As A Team
The Military Unit succeeds and survive through trust, loyalty, cooperation, and teamwork. Adopt a team mindset in relationships and studies. Join or form study groups as you study and be helpful to others.
See teamwork as strength, there’s a Proverb that says ‘two heads are better than one’. Another also says ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together’.
DON’T BE A LONE WOLF, YOU CAN EASILY BE DESTROYED.
9. Pay Attention To Details
Every single detail influences outcomes, so the military priorities precision. Strive for excellence in your studies and personal life through thoroughness, accuracy, being responsible and taking quality control. Sweat the small stuff and reap the benefits.
10. Maintain a Positive Attitude regardless of everything
Military men and women know that attitude can affect energy, performance and morale in both a positive and negative way. As a student, it is essential to maintain optimism, humor, confidence and clean energy even in times of adversity. Here’s what the Bible says in James 1:2-4
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
To sum up, forming these military habits can greatly improve your life as a student by fostering order, discipline, and physical well-being.
Setting a good example for the day might be as easy as making your bed.
By progressively incorporating these practices, you’ll improve your resilience, focus, and time management, setting yourself up for success in school and beyond.
