Dr. Yaw Adutwum also added that the Double Track system has given students from rural Ghana a fantastic opportunity to attend some of the best schools in the country.
Dr. Adutwum praised the president for heeding his advice to implement the Double Track system in Ghana.
Since its implementation, the Double Track system has come under fire from certain Ghanaians who claim it has seriously disrupted the country’s educational calendar. But according to Dr. Adutwum, the advantages of the double-track system have been greater.
He emphasized that contrary to what detractors have said, not all senior high schools in Ghana today use the twin track system.
“Not all senior high schools in Ghana are on the double track system. There are a lot more schools that are not running the double-track system because they have the required facilities.
“With the double-track system, it has not adversely affected academics. Contact hours have even been increased. Students coming from rural areas have now gotten the chance to school at some of the top schools in Ghana.
Someone schooling at Kyeraa will not have gotten the opportunity to school at these big schools now studying engineering, science, and others but now it is all possible because of the double track system”
