2021 BECE candidates hunting for Apor already, it is alarming and if the 2021 BECE exams is leaked, WAEC will have to take the blame.
Ghanaeducation.org (Ghana Education News) has observed with worry the alarming quest of 2021 BECE candidates for leaked examination questions. The education portal in the last month has received calls from students who want to register with rouge websites and social media platforms where they would be able to get assistance.
We want to put on record that Ghanaeducation.org has a strong dislike for cheating of every form in education and examinations at all levels.
While we expect BECE candidates to take their studies seriously and continue to work hard towards their examination in November, we also believe teachers and schools need to instill in their candidates’ self-belief through counseling and effective teaching and learning.
Where these are lacking students may opt for the services of rogue websites and syndicates so as to make the grades.
If our BECE candidates are looking for means of having access to the examinations questions through illegal means, our future and fight against corruption in years to come may be lost battles already.
In the last few days, the calls and messages from students have increased at an alarming rate as we are bombarded with calls and chats for help. Some candidates even want to buy district mock papers.
We call on teachers, heads of schools, school owners, and parents who encourage such illegalities to put a stop to it.
We further call on these stakeholders to instill discipline and hard work in candidates and coach them to focus on their studies as they prepare for the coming examination.
Some students are seeking help because they fear that they have not prepared well enough for the examination.
In an interview with the Editor at Ghanaeducation.org Mr. Wisdom Hammond, on the new development, he charged parents, students, and teachers to think about the negative implications of them being caught or associated with any form of examination malpractice. He added that they could be arrested, persecuted, their paper canceled, and or results withheld.
There is no doubt that teachers have an important role to play in building the confidence level of students and their readiness for the examination.
For those who continue to call or chat for this illegality of buying examination questions and answers, Ghanaeducation.org through this writeup is putting on record that it will not engage in such acts or entertain such messages and request and will not hesitate to report such individuals to the law enforcement agencies of the country.
2021 BECE candidates can perform exceptionally well in their examination if they commit themselves to study and practicing past questions. Following instructions and being disciplined can further increase a student’s performance. We continue to monitor social media pages that have started inviting thing BECE candidates for leaked questions at a fee.
It is time for students to challenge themselves, set targets for each Subject in terms of the grades they want to obtain abs work at them instead of wasting time and effort looking for an opportunity to engage in illegality.
The rate at which students are looking for the services of examination leaking syndicate should be a worry to the WAEC.
