2021 BECE results aren’t out after 99 days | New likely date projected

2021 BECE Results not out 99 days after the examination ended on 19th November 2021. This is more than twice the number of days it often takes WAEC to release the results of a national or international examination.

We are 72 hours shy of the exact end of February 2021 and the results are yet to be released by WAEC as promised by Dr. Adutwum, the Minister of Education.

This could mean, the results may be released in March and not in February as promised.

While candidates and other stakeholders expected the result to be released by Friday 25th February 2022, the WAEC is yet to release an official statement regarding the results.

The 2021 BECE was administered from Monday, 15th November 2021 to Friday, 19th November 2021. The 2021 BECE results are expected to be released by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) by the end of February.

Anxious students are stressed and want to know the exact day that WAEC will make the 2021 BECE results public.

WAEC does not inform the public of the exact date it will release its results, however, the Ghana Education Service often updates the public about the date for the release of school placements.

Should the results delay, the school placements would also likely be delayed, and the 4th April 2022 reopening date for Free SHS year-one students may not start school as planned.

Since the emergence of Covid-19, WAEC has not been able to keep up with its release of results 45 days after the examination standard operation period.

The likelihood of the results being released on Monday, February 2022 is very low. Hence the 2021 BECE results may not be released by WAEC in February 2022 as promised. Students should be more realistic by expecting the results between Tuesday, 1st March 2022 and Monday, 7th March 2022.

Reasons why the 2021 BECE results aren’t out 99 days after exams

Late reopening of school for Senior High Students:

Per the SHS calendar released by the Ghana Education Service, SHS students are to report to school on 4th April 2022. This means SHS1 students have not less than 30 days to prepare for school. Thus, WAEC is not under pressure to release results because there is ample time between the 2021 BECE result release date and the resumption of school date for BECE 2021 candidates. This should give parents the opportunity to prepare financially while they wait patiently for the results and school placements to be released.

Covid-19 and change in examination months

Covid-19 has played its own role in ensuring examiners and all officers working on the results take their time to do their work.

The various examinations administered by WAEC in recent times follow each other so closely, giving WAEC more work to do within the examination period.

The WASSCE for School and Private Candidates, BECE for School and Private Candidates, and other examination months have changed and so more pressure in conducting examinations, marking and providing the results.

To check your result follow the steps below.

1. Long onto the result hosting site https://eresults.waecgh.org/

2. Enter your BECE 2021 Index number.

3. Re-enter the BECE 2021 index number to confirm its accuracy.

4. Select BECE (School) as the type of examination.

5. Select 2021 from the calendar providers as the year you wrote the examination.

6. Enter the Serial Number on your Result Checker Card as it appears on the card.

7. Enter the Result Check Pin Number on the card. Cross-check to ensure it is accurate.

8. Click the Submit button and wait for your 2021 BECE result to load.

9. Print the result or save it as a pdf file on your computer or phone.
