2022/2023 Academic Calendar for University of Ghana

The academic schedule for the 2022-2023 school year has been released by the University of Ghana, Legon. The schedules and activities for the two (2) semesters are on the calendar. Also, it’s for students in grades 100, 200, 300, and 400.

The academic calendar says that teaching takes place for eleven (11) weeks in the First Semester and ten (10) weeks in the Second Semester.

2022/2023 ACADEMIC YEAR (1ST SEMESTER) 

The first semester has eleven (11) weeks for teaching.

1ST SEMESTER ACTIVITIES & SCHEDULES

1. The deadline for uploading courses and linking first-semester courses to lecturers (all first-semester courses, all levels) is Friday, November 4, 2022.

2. The start date for registration is set for Monday, December 19, 2022.

3. Level 100 From Wednesday, January 4, to Sunday, January 8, 2023, students will be back on campus.

4. Orientation for students in Level 100 will be held from Monday, January 9, to Thursday, January 12, 2023.

5. The congregation for the 2021-2022 school year will be held from Tuesday, January 10, 2023, to Saturday, January 14, 2023.

6. Continuing Students Report: January 12–15, 2023 (Thursday–Sunday).

7. Lectures begin Monday, January 16, 2023.

8. The last day to sign up for classes or add or drop them is Friday, February 10, 2023.

9. The first day of school is on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

10. From Monday, February 13, 2023, to Friday, February 17, 2023, you can sign up to take first-semester classes again. (re-sit).

11. Midterm evaluation: Monday, February 20, 2023, through Friday, March 4, 2023.

12. Registration for Supplemental Re-sit Exams for Second Semester Courses: Monday, February 20, through Friday, February 24, 2023.

13. Matriculation (Distance Education Students) – Date to be Set**

14. Ceremony for Academic Prizes – April 2023, date to be decided**

15. Aggrey-Fraser-Guggisberg Memorial Lectures – Date to be Set**

16. From Monday, March 27, to Friday, April 7, 2023, students will rate their teachers.

17. The last day of teaching is March 31, 2023.

18. Changes will happen from Monday, April 3, to Friday, April 7, 2023.

19. First semester exams will be held from April 8 to April 23, 2023. (two weeks).

20. Supplemental retake exams for second-semester classes will be held from Monday, April 24, 2023, to Friday, May 5, 2023.

21. There will be a break between semesters from Monday, April 24, 2023, to Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

NOTE: The dates may be different for the School of Law, the School of Medicine, the School of Dentistry, the School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences, the School of Veterinary Medicine, the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and the School of Pharmacy because their semesters go past the normal calendar.
