2022/2023 SHS Academic Year To End On 30th November

The 2022/2023 academic year for Senior High Schools(SHS) is yet to come to and end. SHS 1 and SHS 2 students in double track schools will end their academic calendar on 30th November, 2023. Students in single track schools will have already ended their academic year.

However, SHS 1 students in double track schools, who are currently on vacation will reopen on Monday, 25th September, 2023. This comes after the Ghana Education Service rescheduled the date from Monday, 18th September, 2023 to Monday, 25th September, 2023.

2022/2023 SHS Academic Year To End On 30th November

SHS 1 students in double track schools will be going on vacation on Thursday, 30th November, 2023. A total of 9 weeks and 3 days will be spent in that period. The next academic calendar for senior high schools in Ghana is expected begin in January, 2024

The reason for this new date is to let the SHS 3 Students, who are currently writing their WASSCE finish their papers before letting the SHS 1 students in school.

WHAT ABOUT SHS(Single Track)
As stated above, Senior High Schools that run in single track are currently on vacation. Their academic calendar ended on 15th September, 2023. The reopening date is yet to be decided by the Ghana Education Service.

The 2022/2023 academic year started on 10th January, 2023 for senior high schools. Due to the double track system in some schools in Ghana, not all schools were able to end their academic calendar on 15th September, 2023. The SHS academic year will end in November. It is expected that the next academic year will begin in January, next year.

Basic schools have successfully need their 2022/2023 academic year. The 2023/2024 academic year will begin on 3rd October, 2023.
