2022 World Cup: Argentina and Netherlands settle for a 2-2 drawn game
Lionel Messi set up Nahuel Molina for the opening goal in the 35th minute to give Argentina a 1-0 lead over the Netherlands at half-time in their World Cup quarter-final. With the Argentinian fans far outnumbering their Dutch. Messi converted a 73rd penalty before the Dutch came back spirited to score in the 83rd and 101 minute of additional time to set up the second extra time of the day.
At stake is the sole Semi-final ticket. Messi is on a quest for a first World Cup in his last career tournament, but the Dutch are on a 19-match unbeaten streak in all competitions.
