2023 BECE Grading System in Ghana; How To Check Results

This book aims to teach students and people in Ghana about the 2023 BECE Grading System.

The WAEC BECE Grading System was made so that different levels of success in a course could be measured in the same way. Grades can be shown with a letter, a range, a percentage, or a number out of a possible total. In some countries, a grade point average is made by taking the average of all the grades.

The grading system will help you, the student or parent, figure out your total grade point, so you can choose courses or programs that meet the Cut-Off Points. In the sections that follow, you’ll learn more about the BECE Grading System 2022.

Here are their BECE grades and marks. GPA A+ is between 90 and 100. The second group in this classification, 80–89, gets a GRADE A. GRADE C is 50–54, which is number 6 on the scale.

How do you figure out your BECE score?

The candidates’ grades are based on how well they did on the external (objective and written) exam and on how well they did on the school’s Continuous (Internal) Assessment. On a nine-point scale, Grade 1 is the best and Grade 9 is the worst.

Scores and Grades on the BECE

Here are the BECE grades and marks you need to know to figure out your aggregate.

The grade for 90–100 is 1, GRADE AA+. It is the HIGHEST grade that can be given.
The second group in this classification is 80–89, which gets a grade of 2, GRADE A. It has the sign HIGHER.
70–79 is a grade 3, which is a B+ and is called HIGH.
60–69 is grade 4, GRADE B, which is a HIGH AVERAGE.
55 to 60 is a GRADE C+, which is a 5 and means “average.”
The term “LOW AVERAGE” refers to grades between 50 and 54, which is GRADE C, or number 6 on the grading scale.

Any score between 40 and 49 is called a GRADE D+, and a score of 7 is called LOW.
35–39 is GRADE E, which is number 8 on the Stanine scale and means LOWER.
GRADE F, 9, with a number 9, is the WORST grade, which ranges from 0 to 34.

Your chances of getting into your top school go up as your BECE score goes up. GES enrolls students in schools all over the country using the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

How do they figure out the BECE results?

The BECE Results are made up of your six best subjects from the BECE. The three best core subjects (Maths, English, Inter-Science, or Social) and the three best electives (Maths and English are required).

How to Figure Out School Placement Based on BECE Scores

For everyone who took the BECE exams and can’t wait to find out how they did. Students often want to know how to figure out their BECE scores and what the grading scale is.

For some, it could be the worry or fear of getting into a good senior high school.

One of the most important tests in Ghana’s education system is the BECE. To improve your performance and boost your confidence, it’s important to understand the WAEC grading system and how the exam body figures out BECE scores.

The idea is that students should work hard to get into respected senior high schools all over the country.

So, in this guide, we’ll show you step-by-step how to figure out BECE scores.

  • The first step in figuring out BECE results is to use the marking scheme to figure out how to mark. During the marking process, you find out which answers were right and wrong for each subject.
  • Count how many right answers there are and write them down.
  • Divide the number of correct answers by the number of total questions. (e.g., 30/50)
  • The answer should be a decimal or a fraction for the quotient. (e.g. 0.6 or 3/5)
  • To get a percentage, multiply the quotient by 100%. (e.g. 0.6*100%= 60%) Note that this calculation is done for each person.
  • With the percentage in hand, pull out the grading table made with the stanine method or the new flexible 9-scale criterion-referenced grading system and match your raw score, in this case, 60%, to the marks on the chart.
  • Using the 1–9 grading system, you can figure out the grade once you know where it belongs.

  1. I think the general public should come together to appeal to WAEC in order to change the grading system of 2023 BECE because they are the last batch of our old system of education hence they have to pass. They should use the 100-80 as grade 1,79-75 as grade 2 in that order. I’m pleading with your organization to make my comment heard and help with the appeal for it to reach the WAEC.
