2023 BECE Social Studies: Complete Section B Questions To Try
The 2023 BECE starts on Monday, August 7th, 2023 to Friday, August 11th, 2023. These are our well analyzed and complete set of questions for Social Studies Paper 2 (Section B) to try your hands on.
The Paper 2 of the Social Studies contains three sections, and they are:
Section I – The Environment
Section II – Government, Politics and Stability
Section III – Social, and Economic Development
Candidates should note that they are to answer three questions ONLY in all, one ONLY from each section. All questions carry equal marks.
SECTION I – THE ENVIRONMENT
Answer one question only from this section
1. a. Explain the term Rural-Urban drift (2 marks)
b. State three causes of rural-urban drift (6 marks)
c. Highlight four problems created in the rural areas due to rural-urban drift (12 marks)
2. a. State five features of the rain forest (5 marks)
b. State any five benefits of the rain forest to the development of Ghana (15 marks)
SECTION II – GOVERNMENT, POLITICS AND STABILITY
Answer one question only from this section
3. a. Explain the term ‘human rights abuse’ (4 marks)
b. List four groups who suffer human rights abuse most (4 marks)
c. Explain four ways of preventing human rights abuse in Ghana (12 marks)
4. a. Enumerate four characteristics of democracy (8 marks)
b. Explain four factors necessary for the operation of democracy (12 marks)
SECTION III – SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Answer one question only from this section
5. a. State four reasons for the low agricultural production inn Ghana (8 marks)
b. Suggest three ways of solving the low agricultural production in Ghana (12 marks)
6.a. Differentiate between tourism and leisure (4 marks)
b. In what four ways can tourism be promoted in Ghana? (12 marks)
c. State two reasons why tourism should be promoted (4 marks)
Candidates are urged to take note of the marks allocation and give simple explanations with examples when its needed. Questions demanding four ways with four marks allocated needs no explanation rather just list the ways in a simple and understanding manner.
