2023 School Selection Process To Begin On 23rd August

The Ghana Education Service has revealed that the 2023 school selection process will begin from 23rd August, 2023 and end on 4th September, 2023.
This exercise will take place in various Regional, District Education Directorates and Schools.
Before this school selection process begins, short videos and flyers will be shown to the media to reveal all the processes to follow. Parents and guidance are particularly advised to take a keen interest in the selection of school processes and be involved for a smooth placement this year.
“Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to inform the general public particularly Parents, Candidates and Teachers that the sensitization and education on this year’s guidelines for school selection into Senior High Schools will commence Friday 18th August, 2023.
This exercise will take place in all the respective Regional, District Education Directorates and schools.
Management further informs stakeholders that the selection of schools is scheduled from 23rd August to 4th September 2023. Parents and guardians are particularly advised to take keen interest in the selection of schools processes to ensure a smooth Placement this year. Again, there would be an opportunity for candidates to text to a short code and confirm their school choices before actual Placement will be done. Details of the short code will be made available in due course.

2023 BECE CUT OFF GRADE
There is a cut-off grade for each senior high school in Ghana. Each senior high school in the country falls within a category, namely; A, B, C and D. 2023 BECE candidates must get good grades in order to get admission into the best senior high schools in the country
The CSSPS is done based on six subjects namely; English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, and two additional best-performed subjects of a candidate.
Although there is no specific aggregate for school placement, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has over the year stated that candidates who had aggregate 9 in the English Language, or Mathematics will not qualify for placement.
