2024 Japan Study Support Scholarship | Step-by-Step Process
The Japanese government has launched applications for the 2024 Japan Study Support Scholarships for international students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees at Japanese universities.
The scholarship provides one million yen in financial support for tuition, living, and accommodation fees in the first year of study once an applicant has achieved admission to a Japanese institution.

To be eligible for the Japan Support Scholarship, applicants must meet all the following criteria:
Has been admitted to a Japanese university undergraduate or graduate degree program beginning in the spring (April/May) or autumn (September–November) of 2024, with enrollment confirmed.
The applicant has registered with JPSS and received a message from the university via the “JPSS Scout function” before being accepted.
Is able to interview in both Japanese and English.
Has a Japanese bank account (in the applicant’s name) into which scholarship funds can be deposited. Internet banks will not be accepted.
Is not a Japanese citizen.
