The Ministry of Education (MoE) is expected to make the 2025 SHS/TVET School Placement checking free for candidates. In 2024, the government made the same service free.
Ahead of the 2025 BECE marking, result release and the release of placements on the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) platform, the government has redesigned the portal and given an indication that it will offer the check of schools at no cost to parents.
Why will the 2025 SHS/TVET School Placement checking be free?
In 2024, it was checked for free; hence, the new government is most likely to continue. Again, on the redesigned portal, the government has indicated that the checking will be free. This is contained in the statement “Enter the free access code received via SMS on the phone number used during registration.” This means that an access code will likely be sent to a phone number provided by the candidate either during the registration for the BECE or when one is about to check the placement. Once the code is received via SMS, a candidate or parent can input the code to continue checking the placement.
In 2024, a press release announcing the free access to placement was announced. It is expected that the government will do the same but provide some level of security via the SMS code to prevent unauthorised users from accessing results with just index numbers as was the case in 2024.

The 2025 press release is expected to include the following.
“Ahead of the release of the 2025/2026 Senior High School (SHS)/TVET placement results, the Ministry of Education is pleased to inform prospective first-year students, parents, and the general public that access to the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) platform will now be FREE for checking placement results.”
This new measure eliminates the need for candidates to purchase pin codes, making it easier and more accessible for students to check their placements.
How to check 2024 SHS/TVET placement for free
1. Visit the official website at https://www.cssps.gov.gh/hub/login
2. Enter your ten-digit index number, followed by “25” to indicate the year of completion (for example, 123456789025)
3. Enter the code sent to you via SMS
4. Click “Sign In” and wait for the placement result to be displayed.
The Ministry of Education, following the free access to the CSSPS portals, has encouraged all eligible students who sat for the 2024 BECE to take advantage of this supportive initiative to access their placement results.
Over 600,000 candidates sat the 2025 BECE and are awaiting the marking and release of the BECE results. The release of the results will be followed by the release of the 2025 School Placements on the CSSPS portal. The government has promosed to provide stakeholders with a Smart, Fair & Transparent SHS/TVET Placement in 2025.

If she had grade 9 in Maths or English then no placement. But if not the case, check later for the self placement module.
