2026 BECE RME Marking scheme released for download
The 2026 BECE RME marking scheme has been officially released for download on Ghanaeducation.org. The available marking scheme is the official final scheme for marking all Religious and Moral Education (RME) scripts for the just-ended BECE for the year.
Like the Mathematics, Social studies, and Science schemes released, the RME scheme also comes with additional points added by examinations during their review of the marking scheme.
In addition, the marks to be allocated for sub-questions have also been written in pen (ink). The scheme is for only paper two of the full set of questions used to examine BECE candidates by WAEC.
The RME remains the subject that students pass the most at the BECE each year. In the released marking scheme for the subject, an interesting trend that will help students do well is visible.
Thus, for each question, WAEC has provided not less than ten points that can be raised as a correct answer, and should a student mention and explain them in the manner expected, they would secure a very high score. For instance, WAEC provided 16 points for a question (4a) that required students to provide a maximum of 4 points.
The 2026 BECE RME marking scheme released can be a useful material for teachers of the subject, schools, and candidates.

Students who sat the examination can use the scheme to measure their own answers written during the examination. This will give them a fair idea of what grade and raw score to expect when the results are released.
Schools can download this and keep it in their digital libraries for reference purposes.
The BECE marking started on May 21st, 2026, and results are expected before the end of August 2026.
