24 Hours After Sacking Kwesi Amankwa, Nana Addo Has Appointed A New GES Director. 24 Hours ago, a letter from the Presidency to Dr. Kwasi Amankwa was making waves in the media space. Ghanaians expressed shock at the content of the letter, which was that, the GES Director had been sacked. However, the reason for the termination of the appointment was ambiguous. There were also some predictions that His Excellency The President, Nana Addo, would find it difficult to find a replacement in place of Kwasi Amankwa.
However, 24 hours after his appointment was terminated, a new GES director has been employed. He is in the person of Dr. Eric Nkansah. Furthermore, this appointment was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante.
“Pursuant to Section 19 (1)(2), (a) and (b) of the Pre-tertiary Education Act, 2020 (Act 1049), I am pleased to inform you that the President has appointed you to act as the Director General of the Ghana Education Service pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the Governing Council of the Service, given in consultation with the Public Service Commission.

Your appointment is effective 19th October 2022. I take this opportunity to congratulate you formally on your appointment. Kindly indicate your acceptance or otherwise of this appointment, within 14 days of receipt of this letter.
