28 Year Old Man Killed Over Stolen Phone In Kumasi

News coming in from Ashtown, suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region reveals that a 28-year old man has been killed by an angry mob over stolen phone.

The deceased identified as Isaac Boadi is said to be a resident of Asawase, a densely populated community in Kumasi.

The sad incident is said to have happened on the afternoon of Saturday, August 19, 2023 around 1:30pm.

According to report, the deceased allegedly stole a mobile phone in Ashtown. He was caught and beaten by an angry mob. Isaac Boadi became weak and nearly gave up the ghost where he was rescued by some two persons who came to the scene. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead upon arrival.

The body has since been moved to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for autopsy as police are on the heels of the perpetrators

According to a police report, ‘the situation was brought to the attention of the police by Anthony Adansi of Asawase, a relative of the deceased.

Mr Adansi explained that Boadi was nearly lynched by the mob but was rescued by two individuals.

The two good samaritans transported the weakened Boadi to Asawase Hospital using a tricycle. Noting his deteriorating condition, they rushed him to the Manhyia District Hospital.

Tragically, Boadi passed away shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

The body has since been transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for autopsy.

The police are actively pursuing the perpetrators involved in the fatal mob incident, as authorities aim to address the tragic event and bring justice to the situation.
