400 ghost names pop-up in Agona East NDC register; delegates declare war
National Democratic Congress Agona East branch officials have advised regional executives to boycott the constituency elections.
After the voter registration was filled with phantom names, they vowed to spill blood if they held elections Wednesday.
Enraged constituency executives claim regional and national executives erased names of some of their leaders from the register and replaced them with ghost identities to disenfranchise voters and force their preferred candidates.
Rashid Tamimu, spokesperson for aggrieved executives, told Nana Yaw Asare of Onua News that “the Agona East Constituency elections were set to take place last Saturday.”
However, two of the challenged petitions were not on the voting paper and over 400 delegates were not registered when we arrived at the voting grounds.
Besides the 400 deleted list, over 150 vote papers were taken from the Chairmanship and Deputy Organizer votes, he claimed.
Mr. Tamimu invited party national officials to run the election.
He cautioned that ignoring their petition and allowing regional leaders to exercise would not guarantee their safety.
