6 GES Deceased Staff Paid 112 Months of Unearned Salaries

  • 112 Months of Unearned Salaries Paid to Deceased GES Staff Unravelled.
  • The released list is for the Ashanti region only.
  • The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released a full list of deceased staff validated to receive unearned salaries following the investigations and report released by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

The list covers all persons who were validated and paid various sums of salaries over several months in the Ashanti region.

This brings to the fore the reality of the existence of ghost names in the Ghana Education Service and the public sector as a whole.

On one occasion, one of the detected ghost names received up to 31 months of unearned salaries before it was detected. Validators kept validating the individual for nearly three years.
