The credibility of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) is on the line after its 2021 WASSCE Physics, Business Management papers were leaked on social media. In a press briefing, WAEC disclosed how it managed to arrest those behind the leakage.

According to WAEC, the security agencies led the operations that saw Godfred Darko or Mr. Phresh being arrested as the mastermind behind the leakage.

It said “The West African Examinations Council has managed to arrest Godfred Darko or Mr. Phresh from Central Region, the operator of the popular Apor WhatsApp group dubbed Jerusalema,”

The camouflaged WhatsApp group operator was busted whiles the security operatives are still on the hills of other leakage groups such as Marcus, Marcus, Gyimah Motive, Marshal, and Sir Eben.

In a related development, WAEC has announced new dates for the leaked examination parer as follows.

Physics Papers – The news date is Friday, October 1, 2021 – Time: 8:30 to 11:15 am

Business Management papers –  Scheduled for Thursday, October 7, 2021 – Time: 13:00hrs to 16:00hrs.

WAEC indicated in a statement copied to the press that  “The Physics papers will be conducted on Friday, October 1, 2021, and Business Management papers on Thursday, October 7, 2021. All heads of schools are to note the new date and inform their candidates,” WAEC stated.

It is hoped that the effort by the security agencies and WAEC leading to the arrested of WASSCE 2021 Exam leaking syndicates will help bring some sanity however, long-lasting solutions are needed to stop the canker which has become an annual cash cow for such criminals.
