Teachers employed by the Ghana Education Service who qualify to apply for salary adjustment are required to submit an application via a letter, accompanied by supporting official documents. This letter is a critical document that will ensure officials take the necessary steps to correct the teachers’ salaries.
To assist teachers in writing this letter, the Informed Teachers Network has released a sample letter. Teachers can download and edit this template to meet their specific requirements. All teachers who were recently promoted are required by the GES to write this letter.
Below is the sample letter.

REQUEST FOR SALARY ADJUSTMENT FROM SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT II TO PRINCIPAL SUPERINTENDENT
I respectfully write to request a salary adjustment following my promotion from Senior Superintendent II to Principal Superintendent.
I was promoted to the rank of Principal Superintendent effective 1st October, 2023, and substantively 1st September, 2024, and I have since assumed the responsibilities associated with this new rank. However, my salary is yet to reflect the changes corresponding to the new grade.
Attached to this letter are copies of my promotion letter, assumption of duty letter, and my payslip for your reference.
I would be grateful if the necessary steps could be taken to adjust my salary accordingly.
Thank you for your usual cooperation and assistance.
