The Minister-designate for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has said he would not advocate for the cancellation of the Ghana teacher licensure exams conducted annually by the National Teaching Council (NTC).
A section of stakeholders have called for the Teacher Licensure Exams cancellation.
Dr. Yaw Adutwum has disclosed during his vetting for the position of Minister of Education that the NTC licensure examination introduced by his predecessor will not be axed out of the education system.
Explaining his point of view on why he will not back the call for the cancellation of the licensure exams said “because it’s a way of accessing the future teacher”
His comment comes after some College of Education (CoE) graduates in the country petition him to annul the yearly Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE) when he resumes office as Ghana’s Education Minister.
