The 2023 School Placement has been released, but not without the usual challenges that characterize the aftermath.
Since not all students were placed, some students are required to use the self-placement module to select schools using the procedure below however, many are unable to find a school as there seem to be no schools in the database of the portal.

- Region
- Residential preference (Day or Boarding)
- School
- Programme of choice
- Click on Submit

The Self-placement module shows there are no schools available in all the regions, each time parents and students attempt to use the module. In 2022, a similar thing happened and the MoE later updated the portal with more schools. It is therefore projected that new schools will be uploaded to help those with the self-placement option to make choices.
What to do when you cannot do the self-placement
Candidates and parents who are not able to access the self-placement or can not find schools in the module are advised to check the module tomorrow.
If the system does not still offer any schools at all, parents would have to call the MoE help centre for assistance.

- Before calling, be clear about exactly why you are calling. (Thus know all that you want to say when you call)
- Have the candidate’s index number available so that you can let them have it in case they need it. (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Write down the issues before you call them so that you do not forget any of them during the conversation with the help centre officer. Note that, it is going to be tough to reach them since so many people will be calling.
- If you call, and they do not pick up the call, try again a few more times since there will be others who will be trying to reach them on the same number.
