The anticipated 2024 BECE exam will start in 7 days. The examination is scheduled to commence on July 8, 2024, and end on July 15, 2024, for all public and private school BECE candidates from schools and for those who will be writing the examination as purely private candidates (i.e., those who failed the previous BECE examination administered by WAEC).
The 2024 examination will be the 34th BECE to be administered by WAEC since the Junior High School’s first BECE was held in 1990. However, this exam will be based on the new curriculum.
For BECE candidates, WAEC will administer two different examinations. WAEC will base the first of these BECE questions on the Common Core Curriculum. The nature of the questions WAEC expects to distribute to candidates has made this examination crucial.
According to NaCCA, this examination will be purely based on critical thinking and application questions. Unfortunately, until now, most private examination bodies have been examining candidates with the old BECE style of questions.
WAEC and NaCCA’s delayed release of two different examination sample questions has further exacerbated the confusion, but WAEC will undoubtedly administer the examination in July.
