Akufo-Addo intervenes on behalf of 8 SHS students sacked for insulting him

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has directed that the eight dismissed Chiana SHS students be recalled and given alternative punishment through the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.

After the matter was brought to his attention, the President intervened in a press release dated January 13, 2023, and signed by the Spokesperson of the GES.

“As a result, Minister for Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has directed the Ghana Education Service to consider alternative disciplinary action rather than dismissal,” the letter stated.

The students were fired after they were heard insulting the President in a viral video.
