Akufo Addo Names The Best SHS In Ghana
On Saturday, 30th September, 2023, President Akufo Addo named the best Senior High School in Ghana. The president, together with the Minister of Education, the director general of the Ghana Education Service, and other dignitaries, attended Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School’s 85th Anniversary celebration.
Speaking at the occasion, President Akufo Addo revealed that Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, Legon is one of the best Senior High Schools in Ghana, if not the best in Ghana.

“On Saturday, I attended the 85th anniversary celebration of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, Legon. PRESEC has become, for me and for many Ghanaians, one of the best senior high schools, if not the best, in Ghana. The credit for this goes to past and present management, teaching and non-teaching staff, alumni and students” he posted on Facebook.
About Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, Legon
Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC) is a prestigious secondary boarding school for boys, in Legon, Accra, Ghana. The school is often referred to as the best school in the region and also in the whole of Ghana. It is a category A school. For the past few years, the school has maintained it status and has proven it again in series of academic competitions.

The school’s crest has a shield with the Presbyterian symbol (the St Andrew Cross-Scottish flag with the Swiss flag embedded and a burning torch in the middle) with the motto of the school, “In Lumine Tuo Videbimus Lumen”, meaning “In Thy Light We Shall See Light”, scrolled beneath the shield. The school was originally located in Odumase – Krobo in the Eastern Region of Ghana before moving to its current location in Legon, in 1968.
