Basic Schools To Reopen On 3rd October, 2023

Basic schools in Ghana will officially begin the third term of the 2023 academic year on Tuesday, 27th June, 2023. It will be the last term in the 2023 academic year which ends on 15th September, 2023.

Basic schools will spend a total of 11 weeks and 2 days in the third term of the 2023 academic year. The academic year will officially end on 15th September, 2023.

2023 Academic Calendar For Basic Schools

The Ghana Education Service is doing everything possible to restore the old academic calendar. Due to this, the academic calendar for both basic schools and senior high schools will end in September this year. This will help the Ghana Education Service restore the old academic year whereby the academic starts in September or October each year.

2023 BECE

The 2023 BECE candidates will also resume the third term of the 2023 academic year on Monday, 27th August, 2023. They will be in school until the BECE is over on 11th August, 2023.

This year’s BECE will be written on Monday, 7th August, 2023 and end on Friday, 11th August, 2023.

The official timetable is out. All BECE candidates are encouraged to be by their books at this last minutes to their exams. There is a cut of grade for SHS admission. Candidates may not get the SHS they desire of they do not perform well at the BECE.
