Dr. Bawumia’s Election Paves Way for Ghana ‘s Economic Growth- Former Interior Minister

Former Ghanaian Minister of Interior Alhaji Malik Al-Hassan Yakubu has commended the election of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer.
Speaking to Citi FM’s Umaru Sanda Amadu, Yakubu expressed confidence in Bawumia’s leadership abilities to drive economic development and growth in Ghana through digitalisation.
Yakubu described the election of Bawumia as a “choice of destiny” and believes it will unleash a significant leap in Ghanaian global economic standings.
He drew an analogy to China’s economic growth, highlighting the power of digitalisation in shaping the economic future of any country.

Yakubu also noted Bawumia’s achievement in digitalising institutions such as the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Port and Harbor Authority, and Zimbabwe’s digital economy.
He praised Bawumia’s leadership ability, citing the influx of technocrats at his election as evidence of his significant asset.
Yakubu touched upon his strong belief in Bawumia’s vision for a digital Ghana and stated that if granted the opportunity to lead the nation, he has no doubt in mind that the economic progress of the country will be assured.
He added that if Bawumia wins the 2024 elections, Ghana’s economic fortunes will significantly improve.
